Nest with a broken hedge sparrow egg, found in redcurrant bush.

What do you think this work is about?
An abandoned broken egg, its ruined state a tragic mystery.

What interested you about this particular work?
I like the way the light hit the nest and really made it stand out with the black background it really caught my eye.
I like the roughness of it and the mystery of the lone broken egg.

Name of gallery- Fresh Gallery Otara

Name of work and artist- Pati Solomona Tyrell

Aprox size of work

What do you see in this photograph-
I see a proud samoan family displaying culture and acceptance, masculinity and femininity.

What do you think this work is about?
The relationship that Pati has with his parents and the men in his family and how this forms his understanding of his own fluid masculine identity.

What interests you about this particular work?
I love the message in this photo. alot of island families dont accept their sons to be gay but in this photo the family are accepting and they are proud of their son and his culture and sexuality.
